Bishop Brown is a graduate of Knoxville College with B.S. degree. Bishop Brown also attended the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia.



His pastorates include; Oak Grove, Knoxville, Tennessee; Young’s Temple, Morristown, Tennessee; Jones Temple, Waynesville, NC; Walls Temple, Albany, NY; Columbus Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts; and Trinity A.M.E. Zion, Washington, DC. He was elected 91st bishop of the A.M.E. Zion Church at the 45th General Conference.



Bishop Brown has served the AME Zion Church as a member of the Board of Overseas Mission. He supervised the rebuilding of the Beulah and Medford A.M.E. Zion Churches after Hurricane Hugo. He was a three-term member of the Boston University Board of Visitors
