The A.M.E. Zion Church, according to The Book of Discipline, expects the Board of Bishops to speak to the Church and from the Church to the world. Additionally, it is to provide leadership in the spreading of the Gospel and assist in Christian unity world-wide.
As more and more of the world gets connected into the information technology process, we find it necessary to have a viable tool for the purpose of communicating with our membership. Also, we want to provide a technological access point for those inside and outside the Connection, who seek information and data on and about the church and its programs contemporaneously.
We will be in the future, finding more technology methods for us as a Board for the Church, and, individually, for our specific Episcopal districts, to transact the business of the church during the interim between General Conferences. We have found a technology partner, Sirius Networks LLC, which has a clear understanding of our need and requirements for development of these technology processes. In the coming months, we will be developing internal management processes and tools that will assist us in transacting the business required of us by the General Conference and the Book of Discipline of the A.M.E. Zion Church.
The Book of Discipline of the A.M.E. Zion Church provides the Board of Bishops with the authority "To adopt the proper measures for the spreading of the Gospel worldwide and to bring all unchurched people into the Kingdom of God." More and more of what is called the “unchurched” are younger, more technology savvy and mobile. As an international body, we have every intention of bringing those persons into the Kingdom of God. Our first step is a viable internet platform for the church to manage its history and program information in a way that all may see us and find refuge within the walls of our churches wherever situated in the world. It is not flashy or flamboyant but effective and efficient. We are gearing up for growth in our church and the preparation time is NOW!
So, we as a Board will speak within the borders of this section of the corporate website called the Bishops Corner. And, from time to time, we will ask for your feedback through a link on this website. We will speak to the church and for the church to the world.
