Spiritual Emphasis Week offers an opportunity for each local church to begin the year on a high spiritual note. The entire membership should be encouraged to participate as the church gathers Sunday through Friday for prayer, praise, and proclamation of the word. This annual event should climax with the clergy and laity of the Presiding Elder District coming together for a special service on Saturday. The suggested theme and daily sub-themes for Spiritual Emphasis Week 2012 is as follows:

The Way of Salvation Must Be Clearly Understood Romans: 10: 1-3

Monday, Jan. 2, 2012
The Way of Salvation Must Be Acted Upon Romans: 10:4-8

Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012
The Way of Salvation is Simple, Easy and Indispensable Romans: 10:9-12

Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012
The Way of Salvation Must Be Shared with Others Romans: 10: 13-17

Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012
The Way of Salvation is offered to All Romans: 11:1-3

Friday Jan. 6, 2012
The Way of Salvation is offered by Grace Romans: 11:4-7

Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012
The Way of Salvation is of the Lord Romans: 11: 8-26

    Then and Now: An Ecumenical Gathering to End Racism immediately following the Orthodox Christian Bridegroom Service of Holy Tuesday. Service begins at 6:00 pm, Program begins approximately 8:00 pm. All are welcome to both.
