Friday Night Brings Election Of General Officers & Bishops!
Friday evening of the General Conference always brings the excitement of election of corporate church officers and bishops. Tonight was no different. But first, Congressman Jim Clyburn of the 6th Congressional District in South Carolina brought greetings from President Barack Obama, who was scheduled to bring greetings Wednesday afternoon.

The congressman wove an eloquent message of hope and challenge by contrasting what we need to do today versus what James admonish us to be careful about in his epistle. He noted that faith without works is dead. Powerful, understated but inspiring, the congressman left the conference with the challenge to stay diligent and work hard so that our children and grand children don’t have to suffer the indignities as the parents and grandparents did more than 50 years ago.

Up first, election of bishops and general officers.
